Tonedeff - Demon EP (Review)

Tonedeff - Demon EP

"Demon EP" is the second installment from Tonedeff's second album "Polymer", which consists of four EPs that, when combined, will form the final album. The EP features no real guest appearances besides some backing vocals by Danish singer-songwriter, FJER and is fully produced by Tonedeff himself. It was released digitally on December 10, 2013 through his Bandcamp page.

Murs - Christmas Rules Everything Around Me

Los Angeles rapper Murs comes through with his latest single, "Christmas Rules Everything Around Me", which is produced by Curtiss King. I never really thought of flipping Wu-Tang's acronym for C.R.E.A.M. into a Christmas track, so I'm diggin' the originality here.
"If you know me you know I LOVE Christmas," says Murs. "I've always wanted to make Xmas song. It's corny it's silly it's fun and I LOVE it!"
Dope.

MisterrCha - Standing EP (Instrumental Album)

MisterrCha is a 17 year old music producer from the UK who produces a mix of hip hop, trap and EDM/Electronica instrumentals. He recently released an instrumental EP, entitled "Standing EP", back in November which features a broad range of beats from upbeat electronica instrumentals to more traditional boom-bap inspired beats. Check it out below.

LOTenI - The Edge of The Universe (Video)

LOTenI is a 23 year old emcee from Windhoek North, Namibia who is currently residing in Washington DC and who recently just dropped an ill video for the track "The Edge of the Universe." The song is dope and is his take on Canadian trio Down To Erf's 1996 track "Learn To Earn", which is some great throwback boom-bap. Check it out below.

Vers'tyle - Rogue Of The Mold

"Rogue Of The Mold" is the second album from Montclair, NJ emcee Vers'tyle. The album features guest appearances from Rob Deech and Lynx as well as production by ANS, Kashmill, AxL Beatz and Superstar O.
"This album is a declaration of my defiance as an artist. Stating that I no longer feel the need to blend in, or make tracks like what is already out (my approach in the album The Unveiling). Knowing that a sound that's different is the road less traveled, but once people catch on, it's the same road that keeps listeners on-board."
Nice. Peep it below.

Murs - S.O.S. (featuring Kosha Dillz, Jabee, Reverie, Cash Lansky, Marley B and Optimal)

Los Angeles emcee and hip-hop veteran Murs comes through with a music video for his track "S.O.S', which features Kosha Dillz, Jabee, Cash Lansky, Marley B, Optimal and Reverie. As you can tell, the song is a posse cut and is being put out under Murs' new imprint, Label 316.
"I started this label as a platform for all the hard working artists out there  I felt deserved a more. I for one believe that this game is 10% talent and 90% work ethic. And you won't find one lazy artist on this roster."
Dope shit.

Marchtect - 2 Weeks Notice (Album)

Marchitect (from the Hip Hop group The 49ers) is back again, this time with the followup to his "Marc: My Words" album that dropped back in September. The latest album is called "2 Weeks Notice" and is another full length project featuring Marchitect kicking rhymes over ill boom-bap instrumentals. The album is fully produced by Equinox Productions, with Marchitect handling all of the verses with no guest appearances. Check out the first video from the project, "Killemceez4fun", as well as the full album below.

Jay Sinificance - Tax Free Vol. 1 (200 Bars and Running)

West Chester, PA emcee Jay Sinificance returns, this time with his latest single "Tax Free Vol. 1 (200 Bars and Running)". The song is the first release of a few other upcoming volumes in preparation of his official mixtape, "#Renovations", which is set to drop in mid-April early May 2014.
"The reason why its called Tax Free is because no label is taxing my flows to get released. It’s also just a bar for bar mix to show the fans and listeners that don’t know much of me where my lyrical skills are."
Nice. Check it out below.

ERAMATICS - L.A.B. (Video)

"L.A.B." is the latest single from Brooklyn, NY trio ERAMATICS (which consists of TahJmall, Ziiion, and LEXINGTON). The song is dope and builds off of that boom-bap sound of hip-hop's "Golden Era", but modernizes it to make it still sound fresh. The trio is currently working on their debut project, which is untitled as-of-yet and is set to be released in the second quarter of 2014.

Busta Rhymes and Q-Tip - The Abstract and The Dragon (Mixtape)

Busta Rhymes and A Tribe Called Quests Q-Tip released a new mixtape yesterday over on Livemixtapes.com. The tape is called "The Abstract & The Dragon" and had me thinking that it was going to be all new material, but it turns out to be mostly remixes of older songs with a few new tunes sprinkled in. Regardless, the new tracks are fire and the older tracks are dope as hell. Hopefully we get a full EP of original tracks or something from them in the near future. Check it out below.

Lil Champ, Fway, Prez P and J NiCS - Rollin' Clean

Miami rappers Lil Champ, Fway, Prez P and J NiCS deliver a video for their latest single, "Rollin' Clean", which features the four emcees kicking some rhymes over a smooth Mr. Sisco instrumental. The track is dope and will end up appearing on Champ's upcoming album, "Heavy Gunz & Gold". Check out the video, as well as Prez P's recently released "The Ambiance" album, below.

CJ Trillo - Volume 1: Nostalgia

Chino Hills emcee CJ Trillo stops by with his latest mixtape, "Volume 1: Nostalgia", which was released on November 5, 2013 and is actually his fourth mixtape. I gave the project a listen earlier today and was impressed. The beats are consistently dope throughout the tape and CJ Trillo's delivers lyrically with clever rhymes and a smooth flow on each track. Dope shit. Check out the full mixtape below.

Art Morera - 12:01

The EP is fully produced by Nixon and Mydus as 'illMurray' and consists of five songs, all of which are quite dope. The project comes with visuals for each track, all of which you can view below, that portray a night in the life of Art Morera. Very nice.

Junoflo - Soul Season (Mixtape)

San Diego by way of Fullerton, CA emcee Junoflo recently put me on to his latest mixtape, "Soul Season", that he dropped back in late November 2013. I gave the mixtape a good listen and its really ill, combining Junoflo's witty lyricism and smooth delivery with West Coast inspired instrumentals from Inphy, Nubbz, Freddie Joachim, Bahwee, SoulChef and more. Dope shit. Check it out below.

Paranom and Purpose (of Tragic Allies / 7 G.E.M.S.) - Microphone Phenomenal (Video)

"Microphone Phenomenal" is the latest video from the album "Life Outside The Frame", which is a collaborative project between Purpose (of Tragic Allies) and Paranom. The song is banging and features Paranom ripping a beautiful Purpose instrumental full of soft chimes and head-nodding drums. "Life Outside The Frame" drops today on Ill Adrenaline Records, so head on over to iTunes and pick yourself up a copy. I hope to have a full review of the project up in the next couple of days.
