Allen Poe - How Gardens Grow (Album)

Kentucky rapper Allen Poe just dropped his latest album, "How Gardens Grow", over on his Bandcamp page and it's real dope. The project features rhymes from Denmark Vessey (on the track "Lookin For Sumthin") as well as production from Cookin Soul, Amerigo Gazaway, Nemo Achida and others. According to Allen Poe himself, the album "plays a lot on nature metaphors to illustrate the growth we go through as people from the different experiences we typically encounter between our 20's through our early 30's". I gave it a good listen earlier and it's real ill, so don't sleep.

Allen Poe - Shrines From Dust (Single)

Kentucky rapper Allen Poe is back again, this time with the third single from his upcoming "How Gardens Grow" album. The song is called "Shrines From Dust" and finds Allen Poe doing his thing over a head nodding Amerigo Gazaway production that puts a new spin on a sample I've heard a few times before. Dope shit. "How Gardens Grow" is set to be released mid October.

Allen Poe - Know What I Got

Basement Up emcee Allen Poe comes through with some visuals for his track "Know What I Got", which is a cut off of his "Pocket Full Of Ohms" album that dropped back in January over on DJBooth.Net. The track feature the Kentucky based hip-hop artist doing his thing over a J57 vocal loop that should get your head nodding a bit. Peep the video above and then check out the full album below.

Allen Poe - Pocket Full Of Ohms (Album)

Allen Poe, who is 1/3 of Frankfort, Kentucky's hip hop crew Basement Up, released his free album "Pocket Full Of Ohms" back on January 8th and its dope as hell. The album features appearances from Von Pea, yU, Sheisty Khrist, Emma Shaheen, Basement Up and others as well as production from J57, Nemo Achida, Foreign Allegiance, Brock Berrigan, Cody Jordan, Lofidel and ILL CLINTON and others.
"Pocket Full Of Ohms, clearly a play on UGK's classic Pocket Full of Stones, is a record that attempts to account for my coming of age in what many consider hip hop's golden age (the 90's) and how hip hop influenced me as a person."
The album is really ill the whole way through, with Allen Poe spitting fire over a variety of "golden era"-inspired instrumentals. Check out the full album below.
